Dr. Kevin Rhodes
Dr. Kevin Rhodes is CEO and Founder of Kevin Rhodes Consulting, LLC which provides expert consulting and support related to advanced batteries and their application to electrified powertrain systems. In this role he draws from over fifteen years of industry experience advanced materials, battery cell fabrication, high voltage module and pack development, and electrified powertrain systems integration for commercial applications.
Kevin received his doctorate in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Tennessee where he performed research at Oak Ridge National Laboratory related to advanced energy storage material synthesis and novel in situ battery characterization techniques. He holds an extensive list of publications and patents related to battery active materials, vehicle electrification, and energy storage which have received over a thousand citations and implementation on major electrified vehicle programs. Additionally, he has served as a committee chairman for the Electrochemical Society and earned graduate certificates in electric powertrain architecture design and advanced refinement techniques for X-ray and neutron diffraction data analysis.
All together he holds more than 35 patents and pending application in the fields of battery & fuel cell materials science, electric powertrain design, battery charging, control systems, and vehicle autonomy. His technical publications have received over 1500 citations and have been published in such prestigious journals as Nature Scientific Reports, Journal of Power Sources Journal of the Electrochemical Society, and SAE Technical Papers.
